Environment projects
Space groove tft arena
Overall this project took around two months to make. One month was for the concept and the other for taking that model into 3D. The concepting went through many iterations and ideas. I looked up many of the artists and their concepts and drawings through forums and Artstation.

It was a massive tug of war between wanting to keep this an indoors or outdoors environment for the board. It was really hard to tell what space (haha) the splash art of the champions were even inhabiting. Eventually, I opted it for it to be outdoor.
I also changed the shape of the arena so it fits the design philosophy of all TFT arenas and that is an overall square shape. It was still tricky since the designs of all Space Groove skins were bulbous and round.
However, I was still not satisfied with the designs I have made. So I made even more iterations.

The people who I've asked feedback on which iterations is the most please went to the one on the bottom right which I also agreed. The unbalanced symmetry felt to seem to fall in place pretty well, along with the leading lines that takes the eyes to the arena.

Designing the props so I have something more to go off of.
After getting all the concepts down, I shifted into Maya and starting modeling and texturing.

WIP

I was having issues with the silhouette of the border of the arena. After getting feedback from Katarzyna Mnich at the Handpainters Guild, I was able to adjust.

Bringing the whole scene into Unreal and adding shaders to simulate the VFX. The skybox is made in Spacescape.
After some minor adjustments and tweaking. I was able to finally able to execute my concept. It was a huge undertaking. Lots of burnout and I would definitely like to come back to this project but I'm very proud of being able to stick to an idea and inspire other people to make their own TFT Skins.
